Danielle Cortez is a dual-qualified corporate attorney (New York, Ohio, and England & Wales) with over six years of experience advising founders, emerging companies, investors, and investment managers across the full lifecycle of venture capital, private equity, and M&A transactions. She regularly represents clients on complex domestic and cross-border matters, bringing a pragmatic, commercially focused approach shaped by her U.S. Big Law training and UK private capital experience.


Danielle’s practice focuses on venture capital and growth equity financings, fund formation, private equity investments, and strategic M&A transactions. She advises founders from formation through exit, including on incorporations, SAFEs and seed rounds, Series A through later-stage financings, governance matters, and ongoing fractional general counsel support. On the investor side, Danielle represents venture capital firms, private equity sponsors, family offices, pension funds, and institutional investors in primary and secondary investments, co-investments, and portfolio company matters.


Prior to practicing independently, Danielle practiced as a corporate associate at DLA Piper in New York and Dinsmore & Shohl in Columbus, Ohio, where she worked on high-profile public and private M&A transactions, capital markets offerings, and securities law compliance for public companies and financial sponsors.


Danielle has represented clients across a wide range of industries, including technology, AI, semiconductors, life sciences, manufacturing, clean technology, consumer brands, and financial services. Her experience includes advising on multi-billion-dollar public company acquisitions, venture financings exceeding $75 million, cross-border joint ventures, fund formations up to $60 million, and complex investor-led transactions involving institutional capital.
